About Jericoacoara (Jeri)

Jijoca de Jericoacoara is a city in the state of Ceará, Brazil, some 300 km west of Fortaleza. It is the kind of idyllic place where many travelers end up deciding to stay for longer than they had originally planned. There are hotels and so called pousadas, a type of exclusive and often historic hotel located throughout Brazil, original from Portugal. Some good hotels are: Pousada Sitio Phoenix, Hotel Villa Terra Viva, Hotel Mosquito Blue Jericoacoara and Pousada Surfing Jeri. The city is home of the Jericoacoara beach which has been considered by the Washington Post one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.
